If you always thought that yoga is just for the healthy, flexible, strong and thin...you are wrong!

“YinFusion Yoga” is a practice that blends traditional Hatha Yoga with elements of Yin Yoga. In Yin Yoga the poses (Asanas) are held longer and there are specific and fewer poses done in one class compared to the yang styles (e.g., Hatha Yoga) of yoga where one pose may be held for as little as five breaths. By holding the postures longer focusing on the deeper tissues of the body, increased strength (of these tissues; muscles, tendons & ligaments) and energy is a likely outcome. This practice primarily focuses on these elements with less emphasis on flexibility. Therefore, this is a practice for all body types and levels.

Tai chi is a form of qigong (energy cultivation). Based in martial arts movements, tai chi provides training in proper body mechanics and natural alignment. It fosters a relaxed body and a peaceful state of mind, which are essential ingredients for cultivating healthy energy or qi.
Yang Style form is the most popular of the 5 styles taught today, and the style taught at the Tai Chi Center here in Madison.
The principles which are core to the study are: mindfulness, postural alignment, breath awareness, active relaxation, slow movement, weight separation and integrated movement. (adapted from Tai Chi Center information)
Tai Chi Fundamentals is based on the traditional Yang style martial art. This slow, graceful Chinese exercise enhances relaxation skills, mental focus, and physical alignment while building leg strength, endurance, and stability, flexibility, and coordination.
The Fundamentals program offers a simplified, systematic approach for mastering tai chi basics while maintaining the integrity of traditional form and principles.

Yamuna® Body Rolling I is a practice of rolling the body over specially designed balls in routines that follow the body's natural order. It is a gentle yet comprehensive self-therapy. Combining the releasing effects of massage with the toning effects of exercise, Yamuna® Body Rolling provides an effortless workout and deep stretch. It re-educates muscles, decoding negative holding patterns that cause pain and discomfort. Over time, your relationship with your body is enriched as you unravel restrictions and blockages of energy caused by the repetitive stresses of daily life. In this class you will learn how to realign your body from the ground up. You will feel a lightness of being and an increase in energy in all that you do.
Yamuna® Body Rolling II is designed for students who have attended several 2 hour workshops or the 6 week Dean Healthworks Course. In this workshop you will work into deeper releases. If you understand and embrace the basics, you will be ready for more advanced, specific work. The 'basic' releases that you learned in the other courses are still important to continue with to maintain the foundation upon which the advanced releases will build. You will need to have the black calf balls and the blue foot savers for this work. If you have a red, yellow or green ball, please bring those as well.
